Senior Agent’s Assistant – Film & TV

Do you love working in with creative people, have excellent communication skills and are you passionate about Film and TV? Echo is recruiting for a new Senior Assistant to join the Film & TV Department.

We are looking for an experienced Assistant who is exceptionally detail orientated. Someone who is hands-on and thinks ahead, is a multi-tasker and can handle a fast paced and busy environment with a ‘can do’ attitude. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in an environment where no day is the same.

The right candidate will be someone who has previous experience as an Agent Assistant or 2nd Assistant and is looking to progress to an Associate Agent role quickly. You will have the opportunity to build lasting relationships within a passionate and friendly team at a company that champions career development and staff wellbeing. Full training on the company systems will be provided but it’s important that the candidate has some proven experience in managing multiple busy diaries/to do lists.

Senior Film & TV Agent Assistant Responsibilities:
Agent Support
• Manage, sort and triage the Agent’s inbox in an efficient, timely and proactive manner
• Understand Agent’s workload and help to support in management of priorities, flagging time sensitive
tasks until they are done.
• Manage Agent’s calendar – organise meetings as necessary, ensure there are clear agendas/
objectives and any required prep is undertaken.
Project Management
• Provide co-ordination, monitoring, and updates on projects that the Agent is managing.
• Maintain effective records on projects in the system so that it is easy to update/report on progress,
identify blockers and flag when projects are no longer viable and should be closed.
• Support agent in effective and timely communication between Producers and Clients across projects
including sending out scripts, updating on progress/ holds/ pencils etc, booking confirmations,
drafting deal memos, and redlining contracts.
• Ensure awareness of all current projects and their impact on Clients.
• Submitting clients for feature films, documentaries, television programmes
• Deal Memo and Contracts
• Assisting with Deal Negotiation

Client Management
• Maintain clients calendar including scheduling meetings and updating them with project dates or details.
• Processing invoices in a timely manner, tracking client hours/days worked, inputting client expenses and other basic accounting tasks.
• Liaising with all other departments to ensure they have the latest film/client information (accounts dept, commercials dept etc)
• Support agent in ensuring that Client CVs, web pages and other records are up to date and accurate.
• Ensure awareness of all point Client activity and proactively flag opportunities for development as
they arise.
• Attending awards, events, meetings, and screenings for Clients.

Further Details about the position:
• This is an office-based role located in the De Beauvoir Block, Dalston.
• Hours will be 9:30 AM to 6 PM with 1 hour lunch break, however there will be times where hours may
vary slightly due to film screenings and festivals.
• Experience of Macs preferable along with Word, Outlook and Excel
• £25-32k per annum (depending on experience)
• To start as soon as possible
• Equal team profit share based on company performance after first financial year at echo
• 5 weeks of holiday plus public holidays. The office also closes over Christmas.
• Private Health Cover provided after 1 year of employment

Senior Assistant / Junior Agent

Identity Agency Group (IAG) is one of the leading acting talent agencies within the industry.

We are looking for a Senior Assistant / Junior Agent with an immediate start to join our expanding team.

We are looking for someone with proven experience in a talent agency and ready to take the next step, who is extremely organised, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and a great eye for talent. You should be computer literate, confident on the phone, proactive, a team player, resilient under pressure, and have a strong working knowledge of the industry.

A minimum of two years industry experience is required, with an extensive knowledge of casting directors and provable experience within a talent agency. This will be a full-time position, working from our London office in the heart of the West End.

Junior Agent

Lit Department (Writers, Directors, Producers, Screen Rights)

Intern

Waring McKenna is seeking an intern to assist with general office administration and offer holiday cover to our team. The chosen individual will have a keen eye for detail, an exemplary phone manner and a proactive mindset.

This role is paid pro-rata, working 3 days a week in-person from our offices in Neal’s Yard, Covent Garden.

The ideal candidate will:
• have experience working in a busy office environment.
• have genuine enthusiasm for the industry, across television, film and theatre.
• have knowledge of iMovie, Word and Excel and ideally Tagmin, although training will be given.
• have a calm and professional manner, a friendly, welcoming demeanor and positive attitude.
• maintain an ability to prioritise and be proactive with tasks.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• logging incoming projects for clients on Tagmin, availability checks and self-tapes.
• updating client CVs and our website.
• downloading and uploading clients’ tapes and showreels to Vimeo and Tagmin.
• collating and editing clients’ work from film and television projects for showreels.
• assisting and reading for client self-tapes in our studio.
• reading incoming scripts and creating breakdowns for the Agents.
• dealing with incoming post, fan mail and other general office administration.

This would be a perfect opportunity for someone looking to take their first step in the business and learn more. Prior relevant experience would be welcome but is not essential.

Assistant to Talent Agent

Curtis Brown is one of the world’s leading literary and talent agencies, representing actors, presenters, authors, playwrights, film and television writers and directors and theatre directors.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant to support an Agent in our Talent Department, working alongside another assistant.

This role involves delivering excellent client care and systems administration to maximise success for the Agent’s clients, provide best possible service to production and publicity partners, support the smooth running of the Agents’ Office, and build loyalty to Curtis Brown.
Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, great attention to detail, and a passion and enthusiasm for film, theatre and television. This role is the ideal opportunity for someone excited by the challenge of working for a busy office and the skill set to adapt, learn and assist efficiently.
You will have some previous experience as an Agent’s Assistant, and some experience working within the creative industry, e.g. in a talent agency or casting agency, would be beneficial.

Associate/Junior Agent

The Haworth Agency is a boutique agency with an established list of screen writers and playwrights. We are seeking an associate/junior agent to build on our success as a new agency, whilst keeping true to our principles of a bespoke and individual representation style.

This is an exciting opportunity to build a client list whilst supporting all aspects of company and agency life, both creative and business orientated.

The core activities of the agency are stage and screenwriting with a small but very active list of adaptation clients. The successful candidate will primarily build on those areas, but might also complement our client list by bringing interest in adjacent areas (e.g. directing).

Key responsibilities:

Reading/watching potential work and finding new talent.
Building and maintaining producer relationships.
Negotiating, discussing and progressing contracts.
Providing some agency admin support e.g. holiday cover and some co agenting/rights management where appropriate. Working with colleagues to build agency records, contacts and systems.

This is a full-time position mainly based in our Kentish Town offices. The role requires flexibility to attend evening events and meetings in central London plus occasional regional travel.

Required skills/experience:

Literary agency experience (e.g. assistant level) minimum 2 years. The equivalent in another area of the media (eg stage, TV) will be considered but should include negotiation, administrative and contractual work. The applicant may not already have a client list, but some experience of direct client/writer management is essential.
Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel.
Creative flair and passion for the film/TV and theatre industry.

Salary: Dependent on experience

Assistant to Agents (Theatre, Film & Television)

Curtis Brown is one of the world’s leading literary and talent agencies, representing actors, presenters, authors, playwrights, film and television writers and directors and theatre directors.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an assistant to support three agents across two offices in our Theatre, Film and Television (TFTV) department, Jethro Thompson, Camilla Young and Katie Battcock. This role centres around ensuring the smooth running of the agents’ offices through effective organisation and exceptional client care. Promotion of the clients’ work, seeking out new opportunities for them both here in the UK and internationally, and safeguarding their interests is at the heart of what an agent does, so the successful candidate will need to quickly gain a comprehensive knowledge of each of the client’s work and each client’s specific individual requirements.

We are looking for a full-time assistant with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; exceptional organisational skills; a keen eye for detail and accuracy; resilience and adaptability; and an enthusiasm for film, theatre and television. Whilst this role is collaborative in its nature and will involve working closely with the three Agents, there is also regular level of independent working, and so our ideal candidate will have confidence using their initiative and problem-solving autonomously.

Previous experience working as an assistant in a Literary or Talent Agency is required, or in a supporting role in an agency for a television/film development.

Floating Assistant – Below the Line/Technicians

United Agents Ltd (UA) is one of London’s leading talent agencies encompassing the worlds of film, TV, books, theatre and comedy. We’re currently looking to hire a Floating Assistant to join our successful and busy Technicians Department.

The Floating Assistant will offer general support as a whole to the Technicians department and must be happy to turn their hand to anything. This is a role where no week is ever the same – you could be running packages one minute to providing holiday cover on a busy Assistant’s desk the next. 

The role requires someone who is hugely adaptable and has great attention to detail. You will need to be a strong organiser – calm and collected. It would be helpful if the successful candidate had some prior industry experience and could demonstrate a true passion for film, tv & theatre.

We’re looking for a candidate with excellent organisation, written and verbal skills who has a good knowledge of film, television and theatre. A can-do attitude is important, as is proficiency in the use of MS Office.

Responsibilities:

– Issuing invoices, chasing and keeping track of monies and organising start-up paperwork for Productions.
– Handling a high volume of emails and calls, both from clients and production companies.
– Providing cover for a particular office if any of the department (assistants or agents) are away.
– Script reading on behalf of, alongside Agents/Clients
– Organising meetings.
– Updating client CV’s and imdbPro info.
– Processing contracts and organising online filing.
– Providing full administrative support to the department.
– Diary management for the department.
– Booking international and domestic travel.
– Updating department’s social media platforms

Qualities and Skills:

– Being able to work well with other members of the department team.
– Trustworthy and accurate as will be dealing with highly confidential material.
– Outstanding communication skills.
– Strong attention to detail.
– Can-do attitude.
– A passion for, and knowledge of film, television and theatre.
