Hello – have others accepted below from Wil Jones at BBC RE changed format on Silent Witness?
I am writing to you from the Business and Legal Affairs Department at BBC Worldwide regarding Graham Mitchell’s scripts for Silent Witness Series 17-18. BBC Worldwide has acquired the Changed Format Rights to Silent Witness as well as the rights to include the original scripts from the earlier series of the programme in any future sale of the Changed Format. The Formats team are now very keen to also include Graham’s scripts from Series 17-18 of the programme.
I have attached a copy of the terms that we are able to offer for your consideration but in summary the terms are as follows:
⢠BBC Worldwide’s commission: 30% Gross Receipts, costs relating to trademark searches (capped at 5%). This commission represents the amount of time and effort that goes into securing a deal with a foreign broadcaster/producer as well as the provision of production bibles/materials etc.
⢠Split of Net Receipts: 30% to BBC Worldwide, 70% to the Authors. BBC Worldwide’s split reflects the BBC’s contribution in funding the shows.
